Gaeil Colmcille CLG – Your GAA Club For All In Kells

Gaeil Colmcille C.L.G is your club for all in Kells and surrounding areas of the parish providing football for boys and girls from 6 years of age, Hurling from 6 years and Camogie for girls u9 and below and a Nursery section for 4 to 6 year olds. The club also provides teams for parents and older members in the Community that want to stay fit with our Gaelic for Mothers & Others and our Dad’s & Lads teams. 

Formed in 1964 with the sole purpose of providing Football and Hurling to the Community of Kells, Gaeil Colmcille now stands as the largest sports club in Kells in terms of playing numbers and members for both boys and girls. History has the club with 3 Meath Senior Football Championships, the first in 1966 followed two years later in 1968 and most recently in 1991. The club also has two Intermediate Football Titles, four Intermediate Hurling Championships, three Feis Cups, three A League Division One Titles amongst many other Junior Titles. 

Gaeil Colmcille has three senior men’s football teams playing at Senior level, Premier 1 and have recently won the Premier 7 Championship. The clubs Adult Hurlers play at Intermediate grade and their Ladies Adult team operates at Junior B.

The club boasts some of the best playing fields in the County with three high quality Prunty pitches at their Grangegodden venue and at Páirc Colmcille most known as the Town Pitch where it has arguably one of the best venues in Meath to watch a Championship match.
