Dunboyne Amateur Boxing Club receive generous donation from Teck Ireland Ltd

Dunboyne Amateur Boxing Club were in fighting form last week, when they received a very generous donation from Teck Ireland Ltd.  Dunboyne Boxing club, like so many others, was closed for so long during the Covid-19 pandemic, that club training and fundraising was practically at a standstill.  Now that the club is back in full swing, Teck gladly stepped in and sponsored the club’s campaign for fighters taking part in this year’s Leinster’s and The National Boxing Championships.

Dunboyne Boxing have so far this year achieved: 4 out of 4 Leinster titles, 3 All Ireland titles and have lots more entrants in the next few weeks.  Shane Poleon, Head Coach at Dunboyne Boxing Club said “It is such an exciting time at the club. Our fighters have been training really hard by themselves the whole time the club had to close, but now that we are back in action, they are fully fight-fit and ready to compete.  I couldn’t be prouder of them.  It has been a huge help that Dean and Ray from Teck Ireland Ltd. kindly donated €5k towards the club, which allows us and our fighters to focus on The Nationals.”

Dean Allister, from Teck Ireland Ltd said “At Teck, we recognize that the well-being of our neighbouring communities is fundamental to the long-term success of our company.  We actively support investments in sustainable community development projects and initiatives.  With this goal in mind, we are happy to support the Dunboyne Amateur Boxing Club and wish the club every success in the future.”
